The part of 12 storyboard drawings in color is selected for the exposition, organised by Razor Reel, during the "Festival van de fantastische film", translated as "Festival of the fantastic movie", or/and "Festival of the fantasy movie" in Bruges. People who can and want to see the drawings in print, you can see them there until 2 November 2013!
This 'walk-cycle' is a small test to see if the 'rig', the skeleton for the character is good enough to use for animation. Het seems to work well for animatics. For the final animation a lot has to be added and fixed.
Here is Sjarn-proxy, a simplified character to create the animatics. Animatics are simplified animations to check how the moving picture will work.
Finally, I got to the last of twelve storyboard drawings in color! It was important because it really did improve my speed of drawing and because a certain workflow started to surface.
More importantly, we now have a visual guide to start a second experiment. Getting this storyboard in film! By doing this we'll follow all the steps we'll have to follow in the full movie, but on a smaller scale. That way we'll find out how we can do all those things as efficiently as possible.
To get there, there's a list of tasks to finish:
We're working hard on the storyboard. We have already 100 drawings which can be tagged as 'complete' if we assume 'black and white' is enough. I am considering to add color anyway to get a better view on how the animation movie will look like. At the moment we are working on 12 drawings in color. This will give us a chance to see what effect it has.
